American Club Denmark welcomed US Congressman Steny Hoyer

American Club Denmark welcomed US Congressman Steny Hoyer, Majority Leader of the US House of Representatives. The luncheon was held April 12th, at the Denmark Ship Owner Association building in Copenhagen.

The American Club Denmark has a 102 year old history fostering collaboration and good relations between Denmark and the United States. The club board voted unanimously to honor Congressman Hoyer’s contribution, whose father was Danish, in conjunction with the club’s 100th anniversary.

Congressman Hoyer, lead a Congressional delegation which visited Denmark, Germany and Poland to discuss the current humanitarian and political crisis in Europe. The delegation also included Congressman Fred Upton of Michigan, who has Danish roots and serves as Chairman of the US-Denmark Caucus in the US Congress, US Senator Roy Blunt of Missouri, a member of the US Senate, along with several additional members of Congress.

Leader Hoyer has been an important supporter of Denmark in the United States and regularly meets with Danish Parliamentarians and government officials when visiting Washington. He has previously been honored by the Queen who presented him with the Dannebro a g. Congressman Hoyer had important government meetings while in Denmark and visited family members.

The American Club event was held at the historic Denmark Ship Owner Association 100 year old building stronger relationships between the United States and Denmark. Stephen Schueler, CEO of Enerjen Capital is the President of the American Club Denmark.
