Bank of America hosted their annual European Energy & Utilities Conference in London.

Stephen Schueler, Chief Executive Officer for Enerjen Capital was one of the key note speakers for the important event. Stephen spoke specifically about the upcoming IMO 2020 regulation, the impact on global diesel prices. The International Maritime Organization 2020 regulation change - reducing the limits on global shipping sulphur emissions from 3.5% to .5%. The change is just 9 months away, with ships starting to switch fuels in Q4.  The regulation could lead to an up-cycle in refining margins driven by higher fuel cracks with a possible increase of 1.1m barrels of diesel demand.

The conference included an exceptionally strong line-up of companies across energy value chains (oil, gas, power, renewables: upstream, midstream, downstream and services), with representation from around the world. Over 50 major companies attended the conference highlighting key sector trends, which are increasingly spreading across all types of energy.

The event also included industry experts from within and outside the energy and utility sectors, as well as from the buy side community, providing insights into the most important debates surrounding the future of energy.
